At the moment, we’re talking a lot about how this Coronavirus outbreak is impacting our goals, disciplines, health and more.
Needless to say, we are going to have to make some significant changes in the coming weeks and months. Now is not the time to give up on your personal discipline. In fact, it’s time to double down and protect your physical and mental health.
Our live video yesterday addressed this. During the session, I also referenced a segment with Dr Gail Saltz that I linked below.
From Dr Saltz – Coping with Virus Anxiety… Here is how you can do it.
In a time when we feel like we can’t control what’s going on…
Focus on what you can control. Follow CDC guidelines to protect yourself through proper washing techniques and social distancing.
Follow a Structured Schedule
Stick to a good routine. Set a wake up time and stick to it. Build structure into your day and stick to it.
Mental Health = Stronger Immune System
Stress and anxiety can weaken your immune system. Do your best to control your stress level by:
- Limit your exposure to the news. Watch and read it but, don’t overdo it.
- Exercise 30 minutes each day. Exercise lowers stress hormone levels.
- Practice a few minutes of mindfulness a few times each day.
- Stop alerts. We don’t need to react to every news story as it happens.
- Distract Yourself. Schedule “check out” times to watch entertaining TV or some other form of distracting entertainment.
Be Social
While we may not be able to meet in a group setting, make a strong effort to reach out to loved ones via video call.

Our Priorities Are Changing
With so much uncertainty at the moment, we need to take steps to maintain consistency within our lives. Prioritize routine, your health, and stability.
Control what you can and try not to dwell on what you cannot.
We will get through this together.
Keep moving forward,
Nick
