Laziness and not being ready are not the same. Both feelings are worthy of being explored. If you feel resistance when trying to get something done, ask why.
Why is this so hard? Why can’t I get started?
Push past the desire to ignore the feeling or distract yourself. Be curious. Some questions you may ask are:
What am I feeling right now?
Is this activity aligned with my goals and values?
Am I scared of failing?
Am I not ready?
Am I overworking myself? Do I need rest?
What small thing can I do rather than trying to do it all?
Many times we feel stuck and call it laziness. The more you can get in touch with the reasons, the better you’ll be able to distinguish between the two.
A great practice is to journal daily using some or all of these questions.
Got your priorities done? Great! How do you feel?
Didn’t get them done? Why not? How do you feel?
The more you ask, the more you grow your awareness.
